On January 20, 2009, the streets of Washington, D.C. will be filled with onlookers and well-wishers as the 56th Presidential Inauguration festivities under way. From the swearing in ceremonies to the Inaugural Parade, it will be a day complete with patriotism, tradition, and splendor. You and our students can be in the nation's capital for this historic event...and perform at an adjudicated festival!
Your group will perform before a panel of nationally renowned adjudicators and see and hear other student musicians from all around the country. Performances will take place at the Performing Arts Center and Harris Theater at George Mason University. Following the adjudications, on Monday evening, we will assemble for Heritage Festivals own Presidential Inaugural Ball, including a formal banquet and dance. Groups will enjoy all the wonder and excitement of Washington, D.C. over their historic weekend, surrounded by the sights of the capital city including the White House, U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian Museums, presidential monuments and Arlington Cemetery.
